FRUIT Logistica 2015 in Berlin is an opportunity for the fruit industry to come and meet Sirane and discover how our fruit packaging innovations could help your company.

Fruit Logistica – Europe’s biggest and most popular fresh produce show – is at Messe Berlin in the German capital from February 4-6 – and Sirane will be well represented.

Ethylene absorbent pads among innovative Fruit Logistica offering

ETHYLENE removal can extend the shelf-life of many fruits – particularly strawberries and other berries - and Sirane’s products could prove the perfect solution.

Last year PhD researchers at Cranfield University showed how a few days additional shelf-life extension can be achieved by using effective ethylene absorbency technology – and absorbent pads and labels doing just that are among Sirane’s food packaging range.

They will be on show, along with other innovative fruit packaging solutions, at Fruit Logistica in Berlin in February when the fruit world descends on the German capital.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Sirane’s fruit pads are all offered with additional ethylene absorbency as an option – which can be vital for the shelf-life of berries of all types.

“Strawberries is the big market, but this also works for raspberries, blackberries etc.

“Our pads have been made so that all the technology is incorporated into one simple pad, which is easy to use, environmentally friendly, and cheaper than other solutions.”

Absorbent fruit packaging on show at Fruit Logistica

FRUIT Logistica in Berlin will provide a great showcase of Sirane’s absorbent fruit packaging solutions when the company exhibits at the popular trade show in January.

Sirane is an innovative packaging development-to-manufacture company which has a number of products that are perfect for packaging and protecting fresh fruit – and for Fruit Logistica there will be a particular focus placed on absorbent fruit packaging.

Sirane recently launched Dri-fresh^TM Soft-Hold^TM fruit cushioning pads – one of the products which will be on display in the German capital. Also available is Sira-Flex^TM Resolve^® - a film with incredible shelf-life extending properties which has caused a bit of a stir worldwide. The film, also available in a bag format, has been shown to add five days or more additional shelf-life to some fresh produce.

Sira-Flex^TM Resolve^® is made from a natural bio-polymer – so is fully bio-degradable. The film’s astonishing qualities mean it self-regulates the conditions inside the pack. The perfect atmosphere is maintained inside even if the storage temperature is variable.
